When rear-mounting it will be necessary to remove the pulley from the engine. If your pulley is fitted with a "crud-catcher" oil seal shield then you may remove this to increase clearance. If possible the 5mm spacer should be used to move the trigger wheel as far away as possible from the damper-weight on the rear of the pulley. In some cases there may not be sufficent space at the rear of the pulley for the spacer, if this is the case washers may be used instead of the spacer or you can run with the wheel directly against the pulley.
When front-mounting spacers are used on the this pulley in the same way that they are on the 4-bolt pulley, which is shown below. Most of our customers however prefer to rear-mount their trigger wheels.
